And He said unto me, "My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me."

A Journey Home

Acts 5:29 “But Peter and the apostles answered, We must obey God rather than men.”

Many of you might recall the story of Joseph from the Bible.  While the story may take a moment to recall, it is the end of the story that ties everything together.  My brother is an avid reader.  While that statement isn't even just to describe his affinity for reading, I recall numerous times his guilty pleasure was to stand in the bookstore, open a book, read the last chapter to see how the book/story would end.  Once he finished, if the ending garnered his approval he would then literally begin reading the entire book in the store and in about 15 minutes or so would have read through the entire thing!  Literally!

Recalling this, brings to mind the account of Joseph.  To be a spoiler, or to at least share with you the end of the story, you have to turn to your Bible to Genesis 50:20.  Joseph having experienced many trials in his young life: had been abused by his brothers, sold into slavery, and wrongly imprisoned.  Where did it all begin?  From his brothers and there extreme jealousy and hatred of him.  However, Joseph provides for us this statement at the very end of his experience,

"...you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good in order to bring about this present result, to preserve many people alive."

This journey for Princess...this journey for our family... has certainly brought us through many trials.  The heartache, the emotional and physical pain.  The letdowns and the highs and lows...All of this over the last 9 years has been more than we can handle.  but God....

Joseph has an amazing faith and important statement...but God!!!  In our own little world we see this today.  During our journey out of state, we now clearly see this as part of God's plan.  Just a few weeks ago when literally all hope was dim, Princess and I were at our lowest of lows. We were desperate for God's leading and direction.  But God, had it under His control the whole time.  While we thought we were supposed to be in New York.  While we thought we were supposed to be working with specific doctors.  While we thought we were to be back in Houston.  While we thought.... But God.

God has led us in the exact opposite direction.  While we thought we were to head Eastward, God said to us and as well made a way for us to go West.  Hmmm, have you ever heard that before, go West young man?  And so, we did.

Now on our journey back home having completed a lot in a very short amount of time, we cannot fathom or even begin to describe what God pulled off in just literally 3 days.  Though we cannot fathom it, it is also a great reminder of what God did in just 3 days about 2000 years ago.  Jesus, the Son of God, was put to death on a cross.  Died and was buried.  But God...on day 3 raised Jesus from the dead and Jesus appeared to many proclaiming His victory over death.  Do you realize what God accomplished in just 3 days?  And while our meager 3 days can't compare, we are floored and in awe of what God was able to put together for us and now we head home.  We praise God for His goodness and timing.  For the opportunity to visit with two fantastic specialists.  To be able to spend multiple days with an incredible organization that has a true heart for God and the mindset to be used by Him for His glory.  And, for the first time in well over a month to experience fewer than 20 seizures in a day.  Oh how we have longed for this day!

Oh how good it is to obey God rather than man!

We look forward to sharing much more and continue to seek your prayer!
