Please continue to pray for our direction and for Princess’
healing! We saw our first specialist last Tuesday. While the appointment was good, Princess was
not. She was so incredibly weak and
tired, and while in the office was having seizure after seizure. Her illness is
so peculiar and heart breaking. Praise
the Lord though for this particular specialist.
Recognizing that the current appointment time was not long enough, he
asked us to see him in his conference room as he went back and forth to other
patients and then would come back to us in between appointments. We are very thankful for his thoughtful
approach and listening ear. He was
amazing in bringing up thoughts and ideas regarding Princess’ condition and
even spent a considerable amount of time focusing in on Princess’ 9 year
history. By the end of the appointment
and nearly 4 hours later he prescribed a new medicine for us and then it was
off to the pharmacy to give the new med a try.
Truly, the day was overwhelming.
Princess had 22 seizures for the day up until 4:00, and seemingly good
news came with the new medicine as she only added two more seizures to her
daily total. Praise the Lord for a
break!
We are incredibly blessed with some great friends that
generously opened their home to us and it made things so easy and gave Critter
a chance to hangout and be a big sister to their sweet 1 year old. We still weren’t sure about how long we’d be there
because the specialist asked us to stay so that he could monitor her
response. However, he remembered that he
was about to head out of town for over a week.
So, we began trying to reach one of the other specialist that was in the
area and might be able to help.
More to come.
