Do we have any insurance billing specialist out there in the blogging world?
We are trying to get insurance to approve this med and it apparently doesn't have an HCPCS J-code (has to do with insurance billing) code for 2008. So, the docs office will not order the med for me without me paying for it 100% out of pocket, which is more than if I go to my local pharmacy and pick it up on my own. So, let me know if you know anything about the insurance billing world and can help us to find the right codes for all of this silly-ness so that I can get these meds.
Thanks!

Hi! I don't know if you remember me but I met you two at Megan and Luke's wedding. I am not an insurance specialist, but I am in medical school on my clinical rotations. This would be my advice: you should just find out the name of drug and the company that makes it, and get in touch with the company (they will know their billing code - self promotion and survival). If you send me the name of the drug I would be more than happy to do the research for you. I will continue to keep you two in my prayers.
ReplyDeleteI have no idea...but the only thing I can share with you, which may or may not help, is that since my insurance ended this month, I have had to pay out of pocket for a medication that I need. (It helps prevent migraines, and if I don't take it, I'm in icredible pain all the time)...I joined Walgreen's savings program for $20 and my medication cost went from $36 to $12 a month, so it paid for itself! Good luck.. kristiana
