And He said unto me, "My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me."
2 Corinthians 12:9

Borrowed Time

"So teach us to number our days, That we may present to You a heart of wisdom."

Psalm 90:12

Welcome to the Foxhole!  Your checking in, encouragement, prayers, and support have been a true blessing.  The comments, personal messages, and follow ups have greatly lifted up Princess' spirits!  Thank you!  So it has been a few weeks now since we have been home.  While there is still an adjustment, or better, a relearning curve, Princess is strengthening- a testament to God and His power.  While we truly don't know what each day holds, we are counting each day as borrowed time.  God has provided Princess with a new passion for life and motherhood that is focusing her attention/our attention on maximizing her time with Critter and me.  Moses' prayer in Psalm 90 was a section of scripture that the Lord kept putting on my mind and heart while in the ER/ICU/Hospice.  Moreover, a prayer that the Lord would teach us to number our days!  While we are not promised tomorrow, we have a chance to make today count!

James 4 echoes a similar sentiment that describes our lives as just a vapor- "appears for a little while and then vanishes away."  And it is this focus that Princess is learning to walk and live each day.  I am encouraged by her and it is a joy to see her determination and care for those in her life.  Along with her care (caring heart), your encouragement has meant a TON!  And, please know that she is grateful for every bit of encouragement.  One of the challenging moments for her in this season has been her memory loss.  Sadly, events from 20 years ago, to even just 10 minutes ago seem to be gone and have proven to be a struggle.  Moreso, this I think has been a struggle for Princess with her daily encounters with people.  Please know, if you do see Princess, make sure you remind her of your name as it might be a struggle for her to recall or find no matter how long you have known or her or believe that she knows your name.  While this is a discouragement for her, she truly does not want anyone to feel slighted with all the care and support that has ensued.  The joke that I will (very often) make is that "I have never messed up!"  And in all seriousness, it is a HUGE blessing as you come alongside of Princess.

As many of you are new to the Foxhole, we'll also share that we are encouraged by your comments and check-ins.  Some have reached out and inquired about comments that may not appear.  Note for privacy reasons (through the blog), we do redact our names.  Albeit, hard to do in the current tech environment!  😀

Prayers:  Princess' memory, strength, and counting of days!  Each day is a blessing and as long as we have breath, it's an opportunity to glorify the Lord!  More time with Critter.  God's provision- spiritually, mentally, physically, financially.
