God Made you Special and He loves you very Much!!!
We are trying our best in a secular world to be a Kingdom family. The challenge....the call on our lives and our family is to be part of God's Kingdom Agenda: Which is: the visible manifestation of the comprehensive rule of God over every area of life as reflected in the individual, family, church and society (Dr. Tony Evans).
Our Family is taking a stand to represent God's Kingdom and be his Saints in a secular society. Part of that call for us is to turn off the TV. Since Critter's arrival we have limited her exposure to TV. What is humorous, she sees the TV and relates it to Aggie Football...WHOOP! That said, we have continually been mindful of what she is being exposed to and we want to make sure that our actions, our words, and our home points her to Christ. The goal for us as parents is not to replicate ourselves in her, but rather, train her up in the way that she should go in Christ and pray that she will one day take the same step we did and accept the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior.
So back to the TV...While again we don't really allow Critter to watch TV, we did recently purchase several Veggie Tales DVD's for her to watch at some point. Of course, if you know Princess or me well, you might accuse us of making the purchase for ourselves...
But last night, Princess and I decided to let Critter watch Pistachio- a Veggie Tales movie. The story takes on the famous story Pinocchio, but in its usual Veggie Tales silliness. Words cannot begin to describe what unfolded.
The three of us sat on our bed, and began to watch. At some point in the movie, Critter pulled a blanket up over her and snuggled up in a ball with Princess. It was the most adorable and precious moment that Princess and I can recall. Critter has never been a snuggler, and yet last night she melted our hearts. As Princess shared, "I think our stock in Veggie Tales just went up!"
Amen. Check out Pistachio and other great Veggie Tales items at www.veggietales.com
